Getting a taste of Tuscan cuisine brought our vacation to the next level. I don't think I ever eat so well in my entire life. My palette was excited at every meal and my mouth waters every time I think of any of dishes we tried.
For our first night in Florence, I picked a romantic little restaurant called Trattoria al Trebbio. We were seated outside in a charming little piazza.
Our best meal, which could easily be chosen as a last meal, was at Osteria Vineria i'Brincello, a small restaurant run by a husband and wife team. Their food was so good we decided to go a second time and have it as our last taste of Florence. The bruschetta was so freaking delicious Thierry literally ordered a second round while wolfing it down. We tried spaghetti with a meat sauce, home-made gnocchi with a tomato sauce, and eggplant soufflé. Delicious. All delicious.
{Talk about a happy face}
We went to a local hot spot called Trattoria 13 Gobbi. The place was packed and with good reason. The authentic Tuscan dishes were incredible. We tried bruschetta with anchovies as an antipasti, and as a main meal Thierry chose tuna with white beans while I had a hearty bread and vegetable stew. It was so damn tasty.
Eating authentic Italian food is something I will never forget. It almost haunts me, at night, in my sleep.
