ON THE FIRST DAY OF CHRISTMAS

I got hit with some news yesterday. Here is how Thierry put it: "I got good news and I got bad news. The good news is you get to go shopping. The bad news is that Christmas is at our house!". My reaction was a minor panic attack. Let me break it down for you. Thierry has 9 brothers and sisters, plus his parents, plus his adorable grandmother, and sprinkle a little extended family. If your calculations are right that equals about a gazillion people in our house, on Christmas, which is now 3 days away. Breath in. Breath out.

I was told this news yesterday at 3pm and given a breakdown of how Christmas day was to unfold. The only issue is that our dining table sits four people. I've managed to squeeze 6 but to add at least 10 more would be ridiculous. Thierry's master plan is to buy a dining set last minute to accommodate as many people as possible. After convincing Thierry that the dining set at a major furniture store were ugly I gave him my ideas on buying pieces on a budget. I texted my trusty friend Marie-Christine "Come shop with me!" and we hit the road during rush hour for a major shopping blitz, a 6 store mad dash in less then 2 hours where we finished with 2 lovely chairs. Now I just have 4 more chairs and a table to go. Wish me luck! (I'll be posting pictures of the other pieces within the next day or so)
